According to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), over 200,000 Blacks and Hispanics and Native Americans went missing in 2022 within the United States. Unfortunately, our women and children receive little to no media coverage for their disappearances in comparison to white women and children.
The majority of missing person cases relate to:
- Abductions
- Human trafficking
- Sex trafficking
Many of these cases do not receive media coverage from news outlets and publications nor have amber alerts issued. They are inexcusably mishandled and swept under the rug leading to unsolved cold cases. With the on-going racial disparities taking place in the United States, it is of no surprise that the media neglects to do fair reporting.
IUIC cares about our people and we make it a priority to have continual community outreach for this cause. In doing so, leaders from various IUIC school locations visit their surrounding communities to undergo missing person flier missions as well as provide search efforts through various social media platforms. It is imperative for the missing to be found and returned to their families safely.
Deuteronomy 28:
v41- Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
